Gratitude: Dayspring Church Weekend Retreat
GRATITUDE. Give thanks in all circumstances for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (I Thessalonians 5.18) The implication of this oft quoted scripture is that gratitude is not so much something expected of us as something the Divine One wants for us. Similarly, it is not for everything that gratitude is encouraged, but rather in all circumstances. Through story telling, some optional prayer practices, worship, and silence this retreat will offer opportunity to experience the wisdom of this scripture and how gratitude can be a sustaining grace when things are and are not going well. Leader: Karen Johnson, whose primary vocation is spiritual direction, will be the leader of the retreat. She has been a participant in the Dayspring community since 1993 and an Episcopal priest since 1981.
