Becoming God's Beloved

On this winter weekend we’ll have time in the silence to reflect on how God is calling us into the future. In Life of the Beloved Henry Nouwen reminds us that we are already beloved: “Being the Beloved is the origin and the fulfillment of the life of the Spirit.” The path to knowing more deeply that we are God’s beloved leads us to confront ourselves in the warm light of God’s love. We will reflect on Nouwen’s meditation on Communion bread – Taken, Blessed, Broken and Shared—and consider where we are in this journey.

Leader: Peter Bankson is a Steward of Seekers Church and part of the Servant Leadership Team. He helps lead an annual pilgrimage to Guatemala, is a spiritual director and is part of the teaching team for the Course on Spiritual Companionship sponsored by the Washington National Cathedral.
